december 4, 2025

The ISU World Championships, which will take place from March 24 to 29 at the O2 arena in Prague, have their own mascot. The hedgehog is the mascot, and the fans chose the name Eda for him. Why the hedgehog?

The hedgehog is one of the symbols of Czech nature, so it was an obvious choice for the organizing committee. The idea of a hedgehog on the ice may be unexpected at first glance, but for the organizers it symbolizes the embodiment of tenacity and fragility. Just as figure skaters have to watch every detail of their movement, he also treads very carefully during his travels. And what’s more, such a prickly Rittberger would certainly receive full points from the fan jury in the hedgehog version.

The mascot will have the task of uniting figure skating fans across generations so that children and entire families can enjoy the championship. Eda the hedgehog has already completed a roadshow throughout the Czech Republic, and you can also meet him at public skating rinks. If you meet him, you will receive a small gift from him or you can take a selfie with him. He really likes that!

The World Figure Skating Championships will return to the Czech Republic after a long 33 years. Tickets can be purchased through the official sales portals: Ticketportal and Ticketmaster. All information about the event is available on the website prague2026.org.
