David Koller Sings Karel Kryl. The unique concert tribute titled Koller: Kryl will take place on December 3 at O2 universum

may 25, 2026

The concert Koller: Kryl, a unique tribute to a bard with a guitar—a gentle poet, but also an uncompromising critic and the living conscience of the Czech nation—will take place on December 3, 2026, at O2 universum Prague. Singer and musician David Koller, together with his band and several special guests, will perform around twenty songs by this quintessentially Czechoslovak singer-songwriter, whose message is more relevant today than ever before.

In special arrangements, the audience will hear songs such as Karavana mraků, Bratříčku zavírej vrátka, Lásko, Pušky a děla, Monology, Od Čadce k Dunaju and Anděl.

The evening will also serve as a special concert marking the 30th anniversary of the international festival Prague Sounds, which introduced the original concept Tribute to Karel Kryl two years ago—one of the festival’s most successful projects. In the year marking 80 years since Kryl’s birth and 30 years since the singer-songwriter’s death, David Koller and Richard Müller delivered unforgettable interpretations of Kryl’s work at Prague’s Rudolfinum.

The concert at O2 universum will feature projections of unique photographs and a specially designed stage production. Koller: Kryl is presented by the Prague Sounds festival, RedHead Music, and Bestsport, a.s.

“Sadly, the continuing relevance of Karel Kryl compels us to keep performing his songs,” says David Koller. “I think it’s important to bring them to younger people as well, because the themes he sang about have unfortunately become disturbingly relevant again today. That’s also why we want to involve other performers and give these songs new energy. I’m glad our band will be part of it again, because with this band we can deliver Kryl’s repertoire with the necessary strength and emotion.”

“Two years ago at the Rudolfinum, as part of Prague Sounds, David Koller showed that Kryl’s songs can be newly arranged and performed while retaining the same chilling power, conviction, and urgency that were inherent to Karel Kryl,” says Marek Vrabec, director of the Prague Sounds festival and producer of the Kryl project. “I’m pleased that this time we can bring the project to a larger audience at O2 universum while preserving the intimacy of the experience,” he adds.
