Heavy metal hurricane in Prague: In Flames and Trivium join forces for an April show at O2 universum
A heavy metal hurricane is headed our way! In Flames and Trivium are joining forces and embarking on a co-headlining tour, bringing their wild riffs to Prague’s O2 universum on April 20, 2027. Joining them as special guests are Paleface Swiss and Vola.
In Flames formed in 1990 in Gothenburg, Sweden, and to this day remain one of the most fierce forces in melodic death metal. They have toured the globe alongside heavyweights like Judas Priest, Mötley Crüe, Motörhead, Megadeth, and Slipknot. Melodic, soaring guitars and crushing riffs—now synonymous with the In Flames sound—first fully crystallized on their sophomore album The Jester Race (1996). Metal Hammer magazine later dubbed their melodeath masterpiece Colony (1999) “an undisputed fireball of an album.”
With every subsequent record, they have pushed their boundaries further, and they show no signs of stopping. Foregone, their furious fourteenth studio album released in 2023, seamlessly combines the greatest strengths of their landmark records—aggression, heaviness, and melody—honed to perfection with a seasoned songwriting approach. In Flames represent the very best of metal’s past, present, and future.
Trivium—featuring Matt Heafy (vocals/guitar), Corey Beaulieu (guitar), Paolo Gregoletto (bass), and Alex Rüdinger (drums)—followed their 1999 formation with the release of Ascendancy (2005). Declared “Album of the Year” by KERRANG!, it earned a Gold certification in the UK and surpassed half a million copies sold worldwide. Metal Hammer retroactively named it one of the Top 15 “Best Metal Albums of the Century.”
The band boasts six consecutive Top 25 debuts on the Billboard Top 200 and six Top 3 debuts on the Top Rock Albums chart. The single “Betrayer” from The Sin and The Sentence (2017) earned them a Grammy nomination for “Best Metal Performance.” This show marks a swift return to the Czech Republic for Trivium, following their explosive set at Rock for People 2026, while In Flames last performed in the country at Rock for People 2025.
