O2 arena and O2 universum are introducing revolutionary security technology. Visitors will pass through security checks faster, more conveniently and without unnecessary queues
Bestsport is bringing a new generation of security controls to the O2 arena and O2 universum. From September this year, modern walk-through security systems from the US-Based company Evolv Technology will be installed at the main entrances of both arenas, which will fundamentally change the way visitors are checked in at cultural, sporting and congress events.
The Czech Republic will be the first country in Eastern Europe to deploy the Evolv system. The Czech Republic follows a number of other European countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Ireland, Spain and Germany.
The new security gates will allow visitors to pass through much more smoothly without the need for lengthy checks and repeated stops. This technology was designed to combine high security standards with maximum comfort for visitors.
“Getting up to 20,000 visitors into the O2 arena within an hour for a concert or hockey game is a huge logistical and security challenge. Until now, queues at the entrance were practically unavoidable. But when we saw technology capable of significantly speeding up the entire process while maintaining a high level of security, it was clear that this is the future of modern arenas,” says Robert Schaffer, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Bestsport, a.s. “After visiting arenas in the U.S. and Europe and following successful testing right here in Prague, we’ve brought the project to its final phase. “Starting in September, we will offer visitors a significantly faster, more comfortable, and more modern entry experience to our events. Safety remains our top priority.”
Several security gates will be deployed to allow for the rapid clearance of large crowds even during the busiest events.
Evolv Technology utilizes a combination of AI, advanced sensors, and intelligent detection of concealed objects. Visitors who comply with the visitor rules and do not carry prohibited items will be able to enter the arena without a pat-down, meaning without delays and without this necessary but unpopular procedure. If the system flags a person suspected of carrying a prohibited item, that person will be subject to the usual personal search.
“We have already encountered Evolv Technology during our activities in the United States, and after a detailed comparison of available solutions, we are convinced that it currently represents the absolute cutting edge in the field of modern security screening for large public spaces,” says Jaroslav Pajonk, co-owner of CEE Technology, which has secured the right to import Evolv Technology into the Czech Republic.
“We greatly value our partnership with CEE Technology and Bestsport in bringing Evolv Express to this landmark project. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to innovation, safety, and delivering a seamless fan experience. We are excited to see the technology implemented and believe it will play an important role in creating a safer, more welcoming environment while enhancing the overall experience for every customer and visitor entering the venue. The commitment to safety and experience CEE Technology and Bestsport bring to their customers is something that really inspired us to want to be part of this journey and we look forward to being part of it.” Courtney Aston – International Account Executive.
