One evening. Two Martas. A unique encounter
The theatrical recital Marta with the Prague Philharmonic at O2 universum—a unique performance that you may never experience again in this form. An extraordinary evening that brings together the two actresses portraying Marta Kubišová—Berenika Kohoutová and Hana Holišová.
Both actresses will share the stage in a single performance, accompanied by live music performed by 42 musicians from the Prague Philharmonic.
Two actresses. Two interpretations and one powerful story of the legendary Marta Kubišová.
Marta Kubišová has lived an amazing life story in which there was not a single moment when she bowed to power or totalitarianism. Not a moment when she had to compromise or justify her actions with the hackneyed phrase: “I just wanted to sing, so I signed it…”. That never happened. The wives of Communist bigwigs regarded her as a bewitching sorceress who was corrupting the morals of socialist youth. Meanwhile, after her performances, she would go straight home to walk her beloved dogs, and after her second date with a man, she felt it was a serious relationship. Where did this woman’s heroism come from? Did she even have a choice? And why is it important to remember her story?
In this theatrical performance, accompanied by the Prague Philharmonic, audiences will witness the most pivotal part of her life. The recital is filled with songs and music. Hana Holišová won a Thalia Award for her role as Marta Kubišová, and Berenika Kohoutová was nominated for a Thalia Award.
